CREATIVE COMMUNITY

We currently house jewelry makers, fused glass artists, stained glass artists, painters, photographers, a new media artist, authors, screen printers, a historical costumer, various textile artists, a magazine editor, a tinkerer, and an antique quilt historian, just to name a few.

ABOUT OUR FOUNDERS

Makers Workspace was founded by long time friends Jacques Janson and John Henry. Their mission was to create safe, affordable studios spaces that fill the need for the East Bay's outstanding creative community.

Flash back 6 years to when Makers 1st opened in this Berkeleyside article (before we strapped on the tool belts and started cutting up 38,000lb of lumber to start building the the dream!  To make a place where art can thrive).
